Nowhere is a cloud

Nowhere is a cloud

Castello Visconteo di Legnano

14th – 28th June 2015 (extended till November 2015)

Site specific installations, 2016

Yarns, treads, molting feathers, fili di nylon; cardboard, threads, molting feathers

The project was designed for the main tower of the Castle of Legnano, a Middle Age fortress on the river Olona converted into farm during the centuries and then adopted by the Municipality. The site specific installations, made with feathers picked up from the ground, in particular feathers from the Park of the Castle, reflect the the history of the Castle and speak about dream and hope, freedom and prison. The main site specific installation is a cloud of feathers and yarns, an utopian flight. The cloud is shaped by a structure of threads clinging to the existing architectural elements of the tower. The wind makes the feathers dance, but they are trapped by the yarns.

I put cards embroidered with pentagrams whose notes consist of small feathers into the holes of the tower walls. These little pentagrams, impossible to read or translate, refer to the mysterious voice of Nature.

The exhibition was promoted in occasion of Mulino Day 2015 by ARK Cultural Property and Contemporary as part of the project Biodiversity for Expo in Città, with the support of Parco dei Mulini and Municipality of Legnano.

Installazioni site specific, 2016
